Liverpool Dementia & Ageing Research Forum
Our co-designed Dementia Inequalities Game is now available via the Lewy Body Society webpage! The game was designed with people living with dementia, carers, care providers, and Third Sector representatives, and aims to raise awareness of and discussion about dementia and inequalities (diagnosis & post-diagnosis).
The game is suitable for anyone with an interest in dementia and inequalities, including carers, health and social care professionals, students, and the general public.
Launch event 1st September

To kickstart #WorldAlzheimersMonth, we officially launched the game at the Old Library in Liverpool on the first of September. People living with dementia and unpaid carers played the game for the first time, and shared their stories with us whilst playing the game. It was a great success, with BBC Radio Merseyside joining us to feature the event.
The Game

Play the Dementia Inequalities Game with friends, family or colleagues! The game is for 2-6 players, and you can play in teams. A snake-and-ladders-style roll the dice game, you can come across inequality fields or question and activity fields. Depending on the side of the game (first half: pre-diagnosis; second half: post-diagnosis), you pick up different cards on each field, which tells you about a different facilitator (move ahead) or barrier (move backwards) in the journey towards a dementia diagnosis, or care.
The game can be used as an educational tool for health and social care professionals and students. All profits will go back to Charity (Lewy Body Society, SURF Liverpool) and further research and public involvement and engagement activities.
