Academic keynote speaker

Delivering good quality care where it is needed: scalable approaches to post-diagnostic support
Prof Cooper will present findings from the Alzheimer’s Society-funded NIDUS (New Interventions for independence in dementia study) programme, where her team has co-designed NIDUS-family, a manualised approach to dementia care that can be tailored to goals set by people living with dementia and their family carers. Her team has tested the approach in a pragmatic randomised controlled trial. Most people living with dementia in their own homes need some support from professional home care. She will also describe the NIDUS-professional randomised feasibility trial, where her team has tested the feasibility of delivering a training and support intervention for home care workers, alongside NIDUS-family. The talk will include how NIDUS has shown how to deliver good quality care, as equitably and inclusively as possible.
Lived Experience Keynote Speaker

In his keynote speech, Tony Husband will be sharing the stories behind the pages of his book ‘Take Care, Son’. The book tells the story of his father living with dementia.
Attendees will be able to purchase his books at the Conference.
